We visited with the girls last Thursday!! It was so great to see them all again - it has been far too long!!! Emily has grown up so much!!
She will be confirmed next month and we will be there to celebrate with her. It is a part of growing up.

Pin cushion for my sewing machine
I have been using my sewing machine quite a bit lately and am always placing my basting pins on the sewing desk when I remove them as I sew. I have in the past placed them in the nook of a knob I had on the top of my machine but this machine does not have a nook!! A few weeks ago I decided I needed a pin cushion for my sewing machine so I went looking on line to see what was possible. Oh my goodness!! So many possibilities and some very clever designs - including this one!! A circle of fabric, some stuffing and a bottle lid!!! I found some red polyester fabric, cut a four inch circle, ran a basting stitch all the way around the edge and tightened it up - like a yoyo!! I stuffed as much batting as I could into the opening before I stitched it closed. I used a long needle and some embroidery thread and made four partitions by stitching from top to bottom four times pulling tight each time. I went looking for a beautiful button and found this little white heart and knew it was the one. I stitched it in place at the top of the middle. I then stuffed the bottom into a white bottle cover (from coleslaw dressing) and just kept stuffing in the sides until it was evenly wedged in there!! Voila!! A cute little pin cushion for my sewing machine!!

Went to a Play - The Perfect Wedding"
We went to a brunch/theatre production of "The Perfect Wedding "at the golf course on Saturday with our friends and neighbours - Dave and Alison!! It was a comedy and very well done for a local troupe. It was great to be out! The brunch was excellent with a wide variety of foods - salads and vegetables, eggs and omelets, sausages and ham, french toast and pancakes. It included coffee and tea and dessert as well. We arrived at 11am, brunch at 11:30am, the play started at 1pm and we were home by 3:15pm. You can see the stage behind us - a two room hotel suite.
