Mina is in Brownies this year so she brought along a box of Girl Guide cookies to sell. She got herself dressed and we were off to see if you could sell them all!! She had done it before with her Brownie friends at home so was prepared with her sash, her cookies and exactly what to say and do. She did such a good job of presenting herself and handling her sales. In less than a hour she had sold all of her cookies!! We bought the last box!!!
Good job, Mina!!

Moving the back fence!!
The project has begun!! We have been wanting to get this done since the spring. Brian has started slowly digging out, refurbishing the posts and putting them back in the new locations. Here is the first set in the new location!! The asphalt digs out very well when it is hot outside and the gravel and clay beneath pretty easy as well. The process is still time consuming but it is slowly coming along.
Here is where the fence is now. You can see that the willows are so close that it is not possible for an adult to get to the other side yard from this side. Though Mina and Kale have proven that it is not impossible!
Here is the beginning of the coming down from the old location!!
In the process!!
The fencing beginning to be put up onto the new poles!! You can see a couple of the poles that will be moved later for the other length of fence.
The final stretching will be done and the gate put in and that section will be done!!

Tigerlilies in the front flower bed
I cleaned up the front flower bed this past week. The daylilies (yellow) and the tigerlilies (Brian's Mom's) are coming up!! I hope they will flower this year. We brought them with us from Ontario last May and put them in the ground hoping to save them. They did not die but did not bloom either so I was a bit concerned about them for this year. So far, so good.
I gained yet more tiger lily bulbs last week. Alison and I were out walking when a gentlemen who was working in his flower bed asked us to identify the bulbs he was digging up. We assured him they
were tiger lily bulbs and he proceeded to ask us if we wanted any. We offered to come back and dig them up but he was ready to have them be gone ASAP! He called his wife out and requested a bag which he proceeded to fill with all the bulbs in his flower bed which he was prepare to bury under landscape cloth and mulch. We took our treasures along with us on our walk and tried to figure out who in the neighborhood we could share our abundance with. Walking into the close we noticed Shirley was out so we approached her and offered her some of our bounty. She just moved in last year and was happy to take a few off our hands. Alison filled a container for herself and I set about filling a couple of containers to give away and put them rest in a box. I planted them in the flower bed along with the others that are coming up and we will be able to see later on if they are the same or not. I have started a pot of Suzanne as well which she can take home when she comes next.
I see that the hostas are also coming up. They were beautiful last year. I will have to find something to fill in the corner on the left hand side which is quite a bit more shaded than the far right side.
