Yarn puzzle

 A fun yarn puzzle!

Sylvia came for "Christmas"

We offered Sylvia "Christmas dinner" for Christmas so she took us up on it on Monday.  She was here by lunch time and I put a small turkey in the oven after lunch.  We talked crafting and a variety of other things in the afternoon and then headed out for cream to make raspberry bavarian and she filled her car with gas.  We made bavarian with tapioca instead of gelatin when we got home so it would be ready for supper.  We had a great meal and very good dessert and then played two games of Scrabble which was fun.  We had a relaxed morning and she headed home after lunch with blue skies and temperature above zero.  It worked so well because it snowed hard the next day and we are looking at snow and cold temperatures for the rest of the week!!!

Dancing in Bentley with live music my the Plaiders

We went dancing last weekend in Bentley.  There were several craft sales so we headed out just after lunch and had a look around.  Lots of beautiful items and some very unique ones.  We did not need anything but it was really nice to walk around and talk to creators and enjoy the festive environment.  We headed to the Community Hall for the Senior Dance at 2pm.  There was a small crowd including several people who we met at the Red Aces dance classes/events which we have attended in Red  Deer.  They had live music by the Plaiders.  They were very good!!  Playing all sorts of music and taking requests as well.  It was a great time and Brian was careful to not over stress his achilles.  We will be going again when the have an event in Bentley!!

Puzzle - sunflowers

We bought this puzzle for Sylvia for Christmas at the thrift store and Brian wanted to make sure it has all the pieces so he made it up before we gave it to her.  She loves sunflowers so it will be a good project for the new year!!!  Therese

Iron fixed

My iron has been getting quite a bit of use lately and I was finding that it was off and on.  Sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not and I had to dig out my backup.  I finally did a bit of R&D and found that maybe the cord was damaged so I asked Brian if he would look at it.  He did and discovered that the cord was broken in one place and that is why it was sometimes on - if the pieces connected and off when they did not connect.  He cut the cord and resecured the connection and now it is working perfectly again!!  Gotta love it when there are handy people around!!

Puzzle - winter scene

Brian finished another puzzle this week!  A beautiful winter scene.  He has been working on it in between his other projects.  He has started working on a work bench for the work shop which will take a while thought it will make good use of some of the wood he got from Dad when they moved.  Win - Win!!!

House decorating

We brought in the tree and decorated it yesterday.  We put only one box of decorations on this year - the one we did not put up last year.  We are very happy with it!!  We did the rest of the house as well so decided to put the nativity on the pine cabinet which worked really well.  It is nice to have the house all ready for the Christmas season and we will be able to enjoy it for the full month!!!
